Demolition: Our Lady of Mercy Church Convent, 4419 North Kedzie, Chicago, IL

I took a set of photos of the convent of Our Lady of Mercy Church on Kedzie while it was being demolished. Here’s the wrecking/ demolition permit from EveryBlock. I kept calling this is a "rectory" (place where priests live) until I read the description on the permit record ("WRECK & REMOVE A 3 STORY BRICK BUILDING- CONVENT"). All hail EveryBlock and the Chicago Department of Buildings. It costs $72,000 to knock this thing down.

  1. Dear Daniel X. O’Niel
Is it possible to get permission to print your photo from the demolition of the church in our Church Magazine?
Vejgaard Sogn is a parish in the Lutheran Chruch in Denmark – our webpage is vejgaardsogn.dk (but unfortunately in the language spoken by the natives!)
    Yours,
    Ole Michael Strange,
    Catechist
