  1. Good Evening Dan,
Winfield Mounds is a powerful place. At one time it had more people living then Winfield did until about 1929. I have hike through it many times. On the Morning of the Solitice on 2007 I was there at on at clear sunrise preparing for a hike in the Mountains of New Mexico where I attempted to keep up with teenagers.
I had the same sense at the Mounds I had at New Grange and Dun Angus in Ireland. A friend and I were able to camp in its center and watch the Sun sink into the Atlantic and a Full Moon rise over Connemara. My father’s family is from near by Rosmuc. My mothers people are O’Neills from Southwest Cork. That area also has many places that align with the seasons.
When we come back from where we trace our origins we have a deeper respect for those who were where we are now and can hope by holding their land as living connect with our own past and share with them these special places in the universe On we may on occasion feel the sites energies. Your photos bring the Mounds alive.
    Best regards,
    Tom Maude
