Went to go see The Battleship Potemkin with Deirdre last Friday. It was really something else to see a classic silent movie with live orchestra accompaniment.
Stunning to think that the movie was made in 1925. A gigantic cast of people– not actors, but people. The Odessa Steps sequence, with the baby carriage being followed down the steps in fluid motion– now I know what Scorcese’s all about.
